New Dentures: Changing Lives One Smile at a Time

At Changing Smiles, we offer a variety of tooth replacement options, including new dentures, to address the many reasons why someone may experience tooth loss. It could be the result of poor hygiene, oral injuries, or illness.

Losing one tooth can lead to the loss of others due to the changes you experience in your tooth placements. If tooth loss is left untreated, it could lead to permanent changes to your facial structure. Our solutions aim to replace missing teeth and prevent the side effects associated with tooth loss.

Our Revolutionary Cosmetic Dentures

Your jawbone shrinks when you lose all of your natural teeth, mostly in the bottom half of your face. You may also experience some shrinkage with your gums as well. When you combine these two aspects with ill-fitting dentures that don’t provide the proper support your cheeks and lips require, this means your facial proportions will shift/reduce in volume.

The face looks older from the consequences of sunken-in features and sagging facial muscles, which broadens the face towards the bottom. Our Cosmetic Denture has the dual effect of restoring your smile while giving you a youthful and rejuvenating lift.

Partial Dentures

You might be wondering why should missing teeth be replaced. Losing a tooth may not bother you or hinder your life initially, but even one missing tooth can impact the rest of your teeth negatively. Once one tooth has been lost, the others adjacent to it begin to shift. This affects how your upper and lower teeth meet together and can cause issues with how chewing impacts your jaw joints and facial muscles.

Immediate Dentures

Smile and Teeth in One Day

We don’t want you to have to wait several weeks for your gums to heal from tooth extractions, because it’s not ideal. That’s so much time spent without a smile to shine, teeth to bite/chew with, proper speech, and even just self-confidence. The goal is to give you a beautiful and healthy smile and we don’t want you to have to wait any longer than necessary to regain that normalcy of having teeth to use and a smile to show.

At Changing Smiles, we will fit your immediate dentures right after one of our colleagues removes your unhealthy teeth. That way you get the confidence you deserve, right away.

We will have a full or partial denture ready for you to wear immediately following your treatment to have your natural teeth extracted. In the time leading up to your appointment, we work closely with our dentists to make sure that your immediate denture can be inserted right after all your unhealthy teeth are extracted.

Giving You Time to Heal

After approximately three to six months, your tissue and gums will heal. Because your gums will change shape, you will need either a denture reline or a new denture. Depending on your individual needs, we may advise that your immediate denture is a temporary solution, and create a new denture once all healing has taken place.

We understand with our experience, that losing even just one tooth can be very upsetting. A good portion of our patients have experienced a big impact on their self confidence when living with one or multiple missing teeth. Our immediate dentures at Changing Smiles can completely transform how you feel about yourself and how you interact with those around you. Our goal is for you to enjoy new confidence so that you can make the most of every day with the people you choose to surround yourself with.

Denture Relines

The shape of your bone structure in your mouth and your gums will change naturally with time. This can mean that over a period of time, your dentures won’t fit you the way they should. This can cause looseness of the denture, sudden sore spots, and tenderness of gums. By adapting your dentures to fit with the unique and changing characteristics of your mouth, we will ensure that your dentures continue to offer you the best fit, feel, and function.

Changing Smiles Hard Reline

Using a hard denture reline will help improve the fit and also the stability you’ll feel with your dentures. Please note that while your new base is being repositioned, you will have to go without your denture. However, we do have a same day service for patients seeking relines.

Changing Smiles Soft Reline

A denture reline can help take away gum tenderness and sore spots. For people with flat lower ridges, this is not abnormal. It just means that lower denture retention is poor, but we can fix that by adapting your denture to fit your mouth more comfortably. Using a soft denture cushion makes your dentures kinder to your mouth.

Please note that you will be without your denture whilst the new base is positioned. Every year or two, the soft material will need to be replaced.

A temporary/therapeutic denture reline is suitable for people who are awaiting a hard reline or new dentures but their gums need time to settle and heal. This is especially the case for patients who have been wearing dentures that are very old and ill-fitting because this can damage the gums causing them to be sore, swollen, and misshapen. The good news is, we can carry out a temporary denture reline directly in our office, so you won’t need to be without your dentures.

Denture Repairs

We can repair dentures on the same day and if possible within an hour. We can repair fractured dentures, chipped teeth and replace missing teeth so they look like new.

If your dentures break whilst you are wearing them, or have broken on multiple occasions there may be something wrong with the way they fit.

Scheduling a free consultation would be advisable in establishing the cause of your denture breaking. You shouldn’t repair your dentures yourself with super glue. This may offer a temporary fix but it rarely lasts that long and can make it impossible to repair your denture correctly and cause permanent and costly damage.
