Denture Repairs

We can repair dentures on the same day and if possible within an hour. We can repair fractured dentures, chipped teeth and replace missing teeth so they look like new. If your dentures break whilst you are wearing them, or have broken on multiple occasions there may be something wrong with how they fit.

Scheduling a free consultation would be advisable in establishing the cause of your denture breaking. You shouldn’t repair your dentures yourself with super glue. This may offer a temporary fix but it rarely lasts that long and can make it impossible to repair your denture correctly and cause permanent and costly damage.

Changing Lives One Smile at a Time

The shape of your bone structure in your mouth and your gums will change naturally with time.
This can mean that over a period of time, your dentures won’t fit you the way they should causing looseness of the denture, sudden sore spots, and tenderness of the gums.
We will ensure that your dentures continue to offer you the best fit, feel and function.

Denture Relines

Hard Denture Relines

A hard denture reline will improve the fit and stability of your dentures. Please take note that you will be without your denture whilst the new base is positioned. We do have a same-day service for relines.

The following procedure includes:

1. Remove some of the plastic from the inside of your denture.

2. Place a layer of soft impression material onto this trimmed surface.

3. Repositioning inside your mouth to take an impression of the change contours of your mouth.

4. Using this accurate impression to create a new hard base.

Soft Denture Relines

If you suffer from tender gums and sore spots, denture relining can help your dentures be kinder to your mouth. This is often the case for people who have a very flat lower ridge, which means that the retention of the lower denture is very poor. By adapting your denture with a material that remains soft and pliable (denture cushion), we can make your dentures much more comfortable to wear.

Please note that you will be without your denture whilst the new base is positioned. Every year or two the soft material will need to be replaced.

The following procedure includes:

1. Remove some of the plastic from the inside of your denture

2. Place a layer of soft impression material onto this trimmed surface

3. Repositioning inside your mouth to take an impression of the unique contours of your mouth

4. Use this accurate impression to create a new soft base

Temporary / Therapeutic Denture Relines

A temporary/therapeutic denture reline is suitable for people who are awaiting a hard reline or new dentures but whose gums need time to settle and heal. This is especially the case for patients who have been wearing dentures that are very old and ill-fitting because this can damage the gums causing them to be sore, swollen, and misshapen.

The good news is, that we can carry out a temporary denture reline directly in any one of the Changing Faces® Clinics, so you won’t need to be without your dentures.

The following procedure includes:

1. A temporary soft reline material is added to the surface of your dentures directly in the clinic.

2. This conditioning material allows the inflammation to subside.

3. You wear your dentures with their new soft base for a few weeks until the gums return to a normal and healthy state.

4. This temporary soft reline also makes your denture grip much more tightly.

5. When the time is right the soft material is replaced with a new hard base, or your treatment for replacement dentures can begin.
